The Chicago Metal
Finishers Institute (CMFI) was formed in 1935 and is one of the largest
affiliates of the National Association of Metal Finishers (NAMF).
Membership currently consists of metal finishing companies and Contributing
Sponsors representing suppliers to the metal finishing industry.
Perhaps its greatest service to the members of CMFI and NAMF are its dinner
meetings, which offer the opportunity to meet socially with others in the
metal finishing business and to discuss topics of interest to the industry. Over
the past few years our meetings have covered such topics as hazardous
waste and the environment, recycling, the economy, financial planning and
accounting, computers in metal finishing, and workers' compensation.
Through its frequent mailings, CMFI keeps its members abreast of the
activities of the association, state and national legislative and regulatory
developments, which affect business. At the meetings, members can discuss
these matters one-on-one and share business experiences and leads.
To develop new business for members, the association acts as a clearinghouse for inquiries from prospective customers.
But the greatest benefit of CMFI membership is the interaction among the
members at meetings or through direct communications with each other.
Members can find out how others are doing and how they are coping with the
various developments in the metal finishing business. |
